Miss Saigon Tam Information and Registration

We are searching for a number of children to share the role of Tam (age range 4-8 years old) for the upcoming season of Miss Saigon in Adelaide.

REHEARSAL AND SEASON DATES:

Rehearsals – Melbourne (children and a parent/guardian will be toured to Melbourne for these rehearsals)

Monday 4 – Sunday 17 December 2023

Performance Season – Adelaide 

Monday 27 December 2023 – Saturday 10 February 2024.

REQUIREMENTS

TAM (Age Range 4 years old- 8 years old)

The character is male identifying, of Vietnamese Heritage with a playing age of three years old. The role can be portrayed by any gender however please note auditionees with long hair may be required to cut it if cast.

We have a maximum height restriction of 115cms. Whilst the age of the child is variable, the height is not.

The children must be confident – but be able to be still and silent.

The role of Tam does not speak or sing. There is no preparation required for the auditions. Auditionees can expect to play games, some of which may involve them being picked up off the ground, please ensure they wear suitable attire and closed toed shoes. They can expect to hear sound effects, such as a helicopter and gunshots, and prop guns and knives may be utilised. 

Please note, the performance schedule will involve late nights, which may prove challenging for some children.

Children must be available for the rehearsals and performances from December 4, 2023 – February 10, 2024 (rehearsal dates subject to change). The schedule rotates, with each child being present in the theatre for a number of shows each week.

Children must be based in Adelaide (or within 80 kms from Adelaide Festival Centre) and are responsible for transport to and from the theatre.

The employment of children in the production will be in accordance with the obligations of the MEAA Performers’ Collective Agreement.

Not all applicants will be invited to attend an audition workshop. If you have not been notified of an audition workshop by Friday 18 November your child has not been successful in receiving an audition.
